This year they have made several improvements and added some enhancements to their social networking protection. Although we have reviewed other products with slightly better protection we still have this ranked as one of the best antivirus for 2012.

One of the unique features about the installation of this product is that it will not require a restart once the product is successfully installed. After the installation it pretty much runs by itself. One thing to notice when installing is an option for the “AVG Tool Bar” that will make Yahoo your default search engine, many people elect to not check the box and keep their browser the same. We feel that the toolbar implementation adds unwarranted confusion and certainly hurts AVG Anti-Virus 2012 in our review.

This year they bring a new twist with a one-click solution interface for scanning or removing infections. It doesn’t get much simpler than that. It easily incorporates many different scanning options that are noticeably easy to find to accommodate all your scanning options. This program received very high grades from us in this department and help it make out Top Antivirus list for 2012.

This product comes standard with plenty of features and some new ones too. AVG has continued in its commitment to gamers and social network users. They have continued to improve those relatively unique features in 2012 with much less interruptions. One of the best features is their optimization utility. It runs like a registry cleaner, almost like getting two programs in one.
Their LinkScanner is by far the most impressive feature we noticed in our testing. It makes their protection top shelf when it comes to the everyday protection needed to surf the web these days. You will notice a small colored icon next to results in your search engine telling you which sites are safe and which to avoid. We love this feature and think this proactive approach to web safety will help reduce the number of infections.
Updates:
Updating for the AVG Anti-Virus 2012 is a walk in the park. Usually a very delicate task for antivirus products, AVG Antivirus 2012 makes it seamless with its fully automated updating.
